Job Description
Please Note:
This is NOT a Social Media Creator position! The Company Eisterhold Associates Inc. (EAI) is an exhibit planning and design firm in Kansas City, Missouri, that develops and delivers culturally significant exhibits of national caliber. More so than firms typical in our industry, we create final graphic files and interactive systems. We are a national, collaborative, interdisciplinary, creative team made up of industrial designers, graphic designers, architects, researchers, content developers, programmers, planners, and thinkers who strive to create unforgettable experiences—to transform, not simply educate. We generate surprise, excitement, and play—appealing to the lighter side, when possible, to enlighten and enliven the visitor experience. Notable projects include the Rosa Parks Museum, the August Wilson Center, National Museum of the US Army, National Museum of the Marine Corps, and the National Civil Rights Museum. EAI is seeking an experienced Exhibit Content Developer. The Content Developer plays a critical role in shaping the narrative and intellectual foundation of exhibit experiences. This position is responsible for researching, developing, and organizing content from concept through implementation across a range of projects. Working closely with internal teams and external subject matter experts, the Content Developer translates research into clear, engaging, and structured storytelling that aligns with project goals, visitor experience, and design intent. This role requires both analytical rigor and creative thinking, contributing to a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Research of online records. 2. Gather information from processed and unprocessed sources, from both individuals and archives. 3. Conduct, record, and transcribe Oral History Interviews. 4. Work with historians and guide them through their tasks of writing briefs, identifying sources, and developing content outlines. 5. Draft content outlines, incorporating research and guidance from outside content experts. 6. Create presentation copies that integrate content outlines with design deliverables. 7. Prepare drafts and final documents of label copy, exhibit text, media scripts, and other developments as necessary. 8. White boarding possible content strategies. 9. Timely research and compilation of content to produce the appropriate narratives. 10. Create outlines, bubble diagrams, and matrices to accurately represent those content narratives. 11. Writing exhibit-related content. 12. Working closely with the Creative Director and the Design Team to determine and schedule any necessary sketches, drawings, etc. to coincide with content narratives. 13. Coordinate with appropriate personnel, content consultants, researchers, and interns to ensure the overall content strategies meet our professional standards of engagement and effectiveness. 14. Coordinate with the office manager to ensure all appropriate materials (binders, tabs, etc.) are on hand for distribution. 15. Aid in the production of proposals and other marketing and business development endeavors. 16. When asked, maintain contact with our clients with clear communication and documentation, such as meeting notes, and obtain signed approvals if necessary.
