Direct Support Professional

Full time & Part time available. Weekends are required!

Job Title:

Direct Support Professional Duties:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs under the direction of a nurse
• Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
• Support individuals in participating in social and recreational activities
• Document individual progress and report any concerns or changes in behavior to supervisor
• Provide transportation for individuals to appointments, community outings, and activities
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 year old to qualify for auto insurance
• DMV printout Required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs preferred
• Knowledge of hospice care, dementia care, and senior care is a plus
• Ability to work well with others and provide compassionate care
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently as needed

Skills:

• Proficient in providing care for individuals with various needs including autism, dementia, and senior care
• Knowledge of ADLs (activities of daily living) and ability to assist individuals as needed
• Familiarity with monitoring vital signs and administering medications under the direction of a nurse
• Ability to drive individuals to appointments, outings, and activities safely and efficiently
