Job Description

Full time and part time Why become a Direct Support Professional? As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will wear many hats. Each hat is rewarding and gives you the ability to help people directly in your communities Do you enjoy making a difference in someone's life? As a DSP you play a crucial role in teaching new skills and connect people together. As a DSP you will provide company provided transportation as well as provide support to people looking for social, community and work based experiences. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED 21 years of age or older Valid Driver's License (with less than six (6) points). Reliable transportation with current proof of state minimum auto insurance, most positions require use of personal automobile during work hours Pass a ODOT physical and Drug test (company paid) Job Duties You will help the people we serve how to connect to others and their communities based on their wants and needs. You will assist the individuals with personal tasks. Examples include but not limited to: grooming, assisting in personal hygiene, using the bathroom, help dress and undress as needed, help people follow dietary/eating restrictions and assist when needed, and helping them position, when necessary. You will provide transportation for the individual to delegated activities. Which could include, but not limited to place of residence, outings into the community, volunteer opportunities, social engagements and/or work experiences. You will help foster an atmosphere that is caring and supportive. Providing opportunities, for social engagement, community inclusion, and work education You will report to your supervisor any suspected need of medical attention, evidence of abuse, neglect and other health and safety issues.
