SUMMARY:
The Instruction and Curriculum Lead will provide leadership in the oversight of departmental quality assurance objectives. Serve as the Lead Instructor for High School Equivalency (HSE), English as a Second Language (ESL) Integrated Education and Training (IET), and Adult Basic Education (ABE). Serve as the Professional Development Coordinator to the extent outlined in the program grant. Assist the Quality Assurance mission by maintaining the quality of the program across various metrics, including teaching methods, materials, and outcomes. Conduct regular audits and assessments of instructional staff to help ensure that the program delivers as contracted and meets continuous improvement standards. Work in concert with the Director, Program Manager, Coordinator of Enrollment and Career Navigator to align and execute organizational goals across areas of responsibility.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field with two (2) years directly related full-time work experience. Directly related, part-time work experience will be pro-rated and the finalized pro-rated calculation must meet the minimum requirements.
PREFERRED
Master's degree in Education, Adult Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field. Five years of Adult Education instructional experience. Experience developing curriculum. Experience leading professional development. Experience analyzing instructional performance data. Experience mentoring or supervising instructors.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION KNOWLEDGE
Thorough knowledge of adult education principles, quality assurance, professional development, classroom instruction, and computer use. Expertise in adult learning theory and curriculum design. Knowledge of Texas Workforce Commission Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) policies and federal WIOA Title II requirements. Knowledge of educational technology, distance education, and AI-supported instructional practices.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES
Team supervision of instructors and instructional aids with Director and Associate Director or Designee, Adult Education & Literacy. The Instruction and Curriculum Lead shares responsibility for supervising instructors and instructional aides as part of a collaborative leadership team that includes the Director, or another designated administrator. Rather than serving as the sole supervisor, the position works alongside program leadership to provide instructional coaching, monitor classroom performance, support curriculum implementation, ensure compliance with Adult Education and Literacy policies, conduct observations, address performance concerns, and promote continuous improvement. This shared supervision model creates consistency in instructional quality while allowing leadership responsibilities to be distributed across the management team.
