ABOUT THIS POSITION
Phoenix Public Library (PPL) serves a diverse multiethnic clientele of over 4.8 million people, with a central library, and 16 branches. The library offers collections in multiple languages, a full range of cutting-edge electronic resources, and customer-focused public services. PPL is a large system seeking motivated candidates to advance their career opportunities through a pathway designed for upward mobility. Phoenix Public Library is looking to fill multiple Part Time / Temporary Library Page vacancies. A Library Page primarily performs manual and clerical duties in a library facility. They are responsible for shelving library materials in either alphabetical or numerical order, replacing misplaced items, locating requested items, and unpacking/packing boxes of library materials. They may perform other clerical tasks such as filing, discarding items from the computer database, and keeping statistics. Immediate supervision is received from a library clerical supervisor or a Librarian.

Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System. Ability to work cooperatively with others. SALARY $16.39 per hour
Pay Range Explanation:
Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification. Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
Internal Only:
Please understand that this is pay grade 323. If selected, your salary offer will be based on the applicable promotion or demotion worksheet in accordance with the City Pay Ordinance. Promotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade increase. Demotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade decrease. Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade. When there is a change in the first digit of the pay grade, there may also be a change to your classification or unit. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Work and Environmental Conditions Requirements:
Bend, stoop, and kneel repeatedly or continually over the course of entire shift. Reach overhead to shelve books weighing up to three pounds. Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time; from one continuous hour up to four total hours at a time per day while performing a variety of tasks. Perform repetitive hand, arm, and body movements, including lifting books on a continuous basis for up to an hour at a time and for up to five hours or more. Push a wheeled cart weighing up to 250 pounds across up to 175 feet of carpeted floor area. Move objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds long distances (greater than 20 feet). Work irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus: Experience with: Providing excellent customer service. Working in a Library setting as a paid employee. POLARIS Integrated Library System.
