We're seeking passionate and dedicated Part-Time Teachers to join our collaborative team. Dragonfly Designs offers Mobile Art Entertainment for celebrations and engaging team events, Afterschool Art Classes, School Break Art Camps, and DIY Kits. Our commitment to high-touch customer service and providing opportunities to engage in creativity has never wavered. About This Job Dragonfly Designs is currently seeking in-person instructors to teach our Summer Art Camps Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. In addition, we host Corporate Events and weekend Birthday Parties. In the fall, we teach afterschool enrichment classes on school campuses around the Bay Area from approximately 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM. This is the perfect job for college students looking to work in the afternoons and on weekends, as well as art students looking to share the joy of teaching their art medium(s) and learn new forms of art. In our in-person classes, camps, workshops, and events, you'll teach various techniques, including but not limited to beading, tie-dye, wire work, seed beading, painting, watercolor, macrame, dyeing, sewing, weaving, bookbinding, embroidery, batik, and more! Do you have another specialty? Let us know! It's not necessary to specialize in these techniques; we'll teach you! Please bring your love of working with guests of all ages and art & creativity. You'll facilitate relationships and collaboration between students while teaching them skills they can use for years to come. At Dragonfly Designs, we invest heavily in our staff's training and development, and we are looking for long-term staff dedicated to our mission. Our home-based Art & Shipping Studio is located in South San Francisco. Many of our local teachers also work in our studio preparing kits, organizing the studio, and setting our worldwide team up for success by handling the behind-the-scenes logistics needed to serve our clients successfully. Who We Are Since 2005, Dragonfly Designs has been sharing the joy of art and jewelry making with our community in the San Francisco Bay Area. The aim of our family business is to enable creativity through holistic art education. Art should be an engaging, tactile, and rewarding experience. Our goal is to create peaceful and inclusive spaces where each person is empowered to make truly unique treasures by hand. For adults and children, we know that art is powerful and can express what words often cannot. For many, creating art provides a powerful experience of relaxation, leading to a reduction in stress, anxiety, and worry. Who You Are You have in-person experience teaching adults and children. You are engaging, fun, energetic, and able to create meaningful connections with your students, allowing for a positive learning environment where creativity can thrive. Ideally, you have a teaching background and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Sewing Embroidery Macrame Painting (Watercolor & Acrylic) Jewelry Making (Beading, Wire Work, Seed Beading) Leatherworking Ceramics You're a student of ECE, getting a teaching credential, are a certified teacher, or have a degree in or are studying the arts (preferred but not required). You have teaching experience sharing art skills with children and adults. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for sharing your artistic knowledge. You are comfortable speaking in front of groups in an entertaining and engaging way. Pay Scale Instructors within the company have a specific pay scale that corresponds to the job they are doing. For afterschool teachers, the pay increases based on demonstrated skill level tiers. Rates will be discussed during our initial job interview.
