Bulgarian language teacher Hristo Botev Academy Takoma Park, MD Job Details Part-time | Contract $25 - $30 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications Experience working with children Experience working with middle schoolers Working with students Elementary school teaching experience Bulgarian Full Job Description About the Role Hristo Botev Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable Bulgarian Language Teacher to join our weekend program in Takoma Park, Maryland. We are looking for a passionate educator to lead in-person classes for elementary or middle school students (such as 4th grade, 7th grade, or other grade levels as needed). We fully equip our instructors with grade-appropriate student textbooks, supplementary learning materials, and ongoing instructional support to ensure your success in the classroom. Responsibilities Deliver engaging, in-person Bulgarian language and history lessons to young learners. Follow provided grade-appropriate textbooks and curriculum guides while adapting activities to meet student needs. Foster an encouraging, inclusive, and culturally rich classroom environment. Track student progress, assess growth, and provide constructive feedback. Maintain high standards of professionalism, punctuality, and consistent communication with administration. Participate in school events and celebrations, including Back-to-School, Christmas, March (Baba Marta) celebrations, and the year-end Graduation Ceremony.
Schedule & Location Schedule:
Every Sunday, 1:00 PM to 4:00
PM Setting:
100% In-Person teaching in
Takoma Park, MD Qualifications Required:
Native fluency in Bulgarian with a strong passion for teaching and language preservation.
Required:
Commitment to teach in person reliably every Sunday.
Required:
Have work authorization for any employer in the U.S.
Preferred:
Prior experience in teaching, translation, or interpretation.
Preferred:
Background working with children or young learners in an educational setting.
Preferred:
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Work Remotely:
Occasional only during snow days
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 per week
