Part-Time Hebrew Teacher (Grades 6-11) 2026-27 school year Position Overview Emet Classical Academy seeks a knowledgeable, mission-driven, and engaging Hebrew teacher to join our faculty. The candidate will teach Hebrew to students in grades 6-11 within a rigorous classical Jewish educational environment committed to academic excellence, Jewish purpose, and the cultivation of thoughtful and articulate young adults. Hebrew is one of the foundational languages of Jewish civilization and occupies a central place within Emet's classical curriculum. The Hebrew teacher will inspire students to develop proficiency in modern Hebrew while fostering a meaningful connection to Jewish texts, Israeli culture, and the Jewish people. Primary Responsibilities Teach Hebrew courses for students in grades 6-11, including multiple proficiency levels ranging from beginners to advanced learners. Plan and implement engaging, proficiency-oriented Hebrew instruction that emphasizes listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Foster a classroom environment that encourages active use of Hebrew and supports students in developing confidence and fluency. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds and levels of Hebrew proficiency. Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and families. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curricular coherence and alignment with the school's mission and educational philosophy. Participate fully in faculty meetings, professional development, parent conferences, and school events. Contribute positively to the intellectual, cultural, and communal life of the school. Qualifications Required Native speaker Bachelor's degree in Hebrew, Education, Jewish Studies, Linguistics, or a related field. Demonstrated proficiency in modern Hebrew. Eligibility to work in the United States. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Graduate degree in Education, Hebrew Language, Jewish Studies, or a related field. Experience teaching Hebrew to middle and high school students. Experience teaching Hebrew as a second or additional language. Familiarity with immersion methodologies. Commitment to the ideals of Jewish classical education and enthusiasm for working within a mission-driven school community.
