Days Description:
The Highly Qualified teacher is responsible for the creation and execution of specified course content that meets the common core standards as developed by the Ohio Department of Education.
Essential Functions:
Create lesson/unit plans that meet the subject standards as stated by ODE. Maintain current knowledge of class content and changing standards for your subject matter. Present lessons to students in effective manner. Report student progress and maintain fair and accurate digital grade book. Comply with the needs of students with special needs. Assist with all state testing requirements. Communicate with parents on student progress. Hold students accountable to the student handbook and the culture of the school. Reflect upon lessons to make changes and improvements in the form of remediation, modifications, and enrichment based on various learning styles of students. Maintain effective classroom management. Report student attendance to the office each period. Strive to develop rapport with students, staff, and parents and serve as a positive role model. Participate in staff meetings and division and department meetings. Maintain open and effective communications. Promote TSA's mission, philosophy, and vision. Serve as an information resource. Keep stakeholders informed about emerging issues. Escalate issues to the Principal as needed. Perform other specific job-related duties as directed. •
Minimum Qualifications:
(education / software/ physical demands) • Bachelor's degree in Education or Spanish Teaching Licensure from the Department of Education in related field Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.).
