Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and refers to other available programs.
Maintains records as required (i.e., attendance, progress reports, incident reports, etc.).Follows all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged or needed equipment.
Serves as a role model to participants and lives the vision and values of the YMCA movement. •This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned.
Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
Ability to intentionally incorporate the YMCA Program Goals into each session of swim lessons.
Ability to effectively communicate information with members, peers, and supervisors.
Must be observant, safety conscious, and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
Ability to think in the abstract, solve problems, and make quick decisions under stress.
Immediately notify the appropriate staff of any broken equipment or unsafe aspects of the pool.

VALLEY OF THE SUN YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION
is hiring a Swim Instructor (Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours a week) - Southwest Valley Family YMCA in Goodyear, AZ. This is a full-time position. REQUIREMENTS TO BE A SWIM INSTRUCTOR
Minimum age of 16.Ability to maintain a level of physical and mental readiness.Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
