Liberty Gymnastics Training Center, Inc

Womens Optional Gymnastics Coach Founding Development Program Opportunity

Job Description

Help build a premier Women's Optional Team while guiding athletes from their very first competitive steps toward collegiate opportunities. Liberty Gymnastics Training Center | Concord, California Help Build the Next Chapter of Liberty Gymnastics Are you an experienced Women's Optional Gymnastics Coach looking for more than just another coaching job? Liberty Gymnastics Training Center is entering an exciting phase of growth, and we're looking for the right coach to help us build the next chapter of our Women's Development Program Optional Team. Rather than stepping into an existing optional program, you'll have the unique opportunity to help develop one from the ground up, supported by a strong and growing pipeline of young athletes. For the right coach, this is more than a coaching position. It's an opportunity to help build a program, mentor the next generation of athletes and coaches, and leave a lasting legacy by shaping the future of competitive gymnastics at Liberty Gymnastics. If you're passionate about athlete development and excited by the opportunity to help shape a program's future, we'd love to meet you. About Liberty Gymnastics At Liberty Gymnastics, our mission is "Achieving Together." We believe gymnastics is about much more than medals. We are committed to developing confident, resilient young people by nurturing the whole athlete: body, mind, and spirit. Our coaches work together to create a positive, family-oriented culture where athletes are challenged, supported, and inspired to become champions both in gymnastics and in life. Our objective is to create and maintain a fun, engaging environment where children develop confidence, discover their potential, and experience the joy of gymnastics. Our ultimate goal is that every athlete leaves Liberty Gymnastics with memories, life lessons, and experiences that become a springboard for success in whatever they pursue. Our Competitive Vision Our competitive program is intentionally built around long-term athlete development. Many of our Development Program athletes begin gymnastics between the ages of three and six, giving us the opportunity to build exceptional body awareness, strength, flexibility, technique, and movement quality from the very beginning. We believe great Optional gymnasts are developed over many years through consistent attention to fundamentals, not rushed through skill progressions. This strong developmental foundation prepares athletes for long-term success, including high-level Optional gymnastics and the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level. As our program continues to grow, we are also committed to building a strong USA Gymnastics TOPs and HOPES program to identify and develop athletes with exceptional potential. Through age-appropriate physical abilities training, strength development, flexibility, and technical preparation, we aim to provide another pathway that supports long-term athlete success and prepares athletes for future elite opportunities. For athletes who discover gymnastics later, typically around age eight and older, our Pre-Team program provides a pathway into our Xcel Program, allowing athletes to pursue competitive gymnastics while developing at a pace appropriate for their goals and interests. We believe every athlete's journey is unique, and athletes have opportunities to move between our Development Program and Xcel pathways as their abilities and aspirations evolve. With this strong developmental pipeline already in place, we are now building the next chapter by establishing a thriving Women's Development Program Optional Team led by coaches who share our commitment to long-term athlete development and excellence. Position We are seeking an experienced Women's Optional Gymnastics Coach to join our competitive staff. Approximately 20-25 hours per week to start. Opportunity to transition into a full-time position as our Optional Team grows.
Compensation:
$30-$45 per hour , depending on experience, accomplishments, and overall qualifications. This is an ideal opportunity for a coach who enjoys both high-level optional coaching and developing strong fundamentals in young athletes. We believe exceptional optional gymnasts are built through outstanding fundamentals, and this role offers the unique opportunity to help shape athletes throughout their entire competitive journey. One of the most exciting aspects of this position is the opportunity to help shape athletes from the very beginning of their competitive journey. In addition to coaching our future optional athletes, this coach will play an active role working with our youngest Development Program athletes, ages 3-6, helping establish proper body shapes, fundamentals, technique, discipline, and work habits that prepare them for long-term success. You'll also help build Liberty's USA Gymnastics TOPs and HOPES program by identifying promising athletes and developing the physical abilities, strength, flexibility, and technical foundation necessary for long-term competitive excellence. Rather than focusing only on athletes who are already successful, you'll have the opportunity to help create that success from the very beginning. Our Coaching Philosophy At Liberty Gymnastics, we're looking for coaches who see gymnastics as more than a sport. We believe technical excellence and athlete development go hand in hand with building confidence, resilience, humility, character, and a lifelong love of learning. Our coaches challenge athletes with high expectations while creating an environment where every gymnast feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach her full potential. Our philosophy is to always build people up, never down. We coach with respect, encouragement, accountability, and constructive feedback, helping athletes develop not only exceptional gymnastics skills but also the life skills that will serve them long after their competitive careers have ended. If this coaching philosophy resonates with you, you'll feel right at home at Liberty Gymnastics. Responsibilities Help establish and grow Liberty's Women's Development Program Optional Team while supporting the long-term vision of our competitive program. Play a key role in building Liberty's USA Gymnastics TOPs and HOPES program by identifying promising athletes and implementing progressive physical abilities, strength, flexibility, and technical development. Coach Development Program Optional athletes in a safe, positive, energetic, and motivating environment. Work with our youngest Development Program athletes (ages 3-6) to develop proper body shaping, fundamentals, technique, and work habits that prepare them for long-term success. Design and implement progressive training plans and lesson plans that support individual athlete and team goals. Safely teach, spot, and progress athletes through advanced skill development. Prepare athletes physically and mentally for competitions and coach at USA Gymnastics-sanctioned meets throughout the season. Monitor athlete progress and communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and fellow coaches. Foster confidence, discipline, resilience, humility, communication skills, sportsmanship, and a growth mindset in every athlete. Support Liberty's philosophy of building people up through positive coaching, respectful feedback, and constructive accountability. Assist with team camps, hosted competitions, clinics, team events, and other special activities. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment. Contribute ideas that strengthen Liberty's competitive program and coaching culture.
