Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Cheerleading Coach to inspire and lead our cheerleading teams to excellence! In this dynamic role, you will foster team spirit, develop athletic skills, and promote a positive environment for all participants. Your enthusiasm and leadership will motivate athletes to perform at their best while ensuring safety and skill development. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with passionate students and help them achieve their athletic and personal goals through engaging coaching practices. Duties Design and implement comprehensive cheerleading training programs that focus on technique, choreography, stunts, and routines. Lead team practices, encouraging teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among cheerleaders. Teach cheerleading fundamentals, including jumps, tumbling, stunting, dance routines, and safety procedures. Monitor athlete progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance and confidence. Ensure all activities adhere to safety standards by supervising stunts, lifts, and physical routines diligently. Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school or organization staff to update on team progress and upcoming events. Organize team participation in competitions, performances, and community events while promoting a positive team image. Qualifications Previous experience in cheerleading coaching or performing at a competitive level is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, choreography, stunting, tumbling, and safety protocols. Experience working with children or youth in a coaching or teaching capacity. Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct athletes and liaise with parents and staff. Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities such as motivation, patience, and behavior management. Knowledge of sports-specific training instruction along with familiarity in other physical activities like gymnastics or dance is advantageous. Certifications in First Aid and CPR (including AED operation) are required; Lifeguard experience or swimming skills are a plus for outdoor or aquatic-related activities. Background in sports coaching including soccer, basketball, climbing, or martial arts such as karate or judo is a plus.
