Duties Plan, organize, and lead cheerleading practices and routines tailored for youth teams of varying skill levels Teach cheerleading techniques, stunts, jumps, dance routines, and team formations with clear instructions Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence among young athletes Monitor safety during all activities, ensuring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety protocols such as AED operation and first aid procedures Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about team progress, upcoming events, and individual athlete development Coordinate with other coaches or sports instructors to integrate cheerleading into broader athletic programs like soccer or basketball teams Manage behavior and motivate children to stay engaged, disciplined, and enthusiastic throughout practices and performances Requirements Experience working with children in a coaching or teaching capacity, especially in sports or physical education settings Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunts, dance routines, and team leadership principles Background in sports coaching experience such as soccer coaching, basketball training, or martial arts instruction (e.g., karate or judo) is highly desirable Strong communication skills to effectively instruct children and engage with parents or guardians Certification in first aid and CPR; AED operation training preferred but not mandatory upon hire—training can be provided if necessary Familiarity with behavior management strategies to maintain discipline while fostering a fun environment Additional experience in gymnastics, climbing activities, or health club environments is a plus This role is perfect for energetic individuals passionate about youth development through sports.
