This is a seasonal position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of our tennis program and inspire young athletes. Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing daily practice sessions and training programs for the tennis team.
- Provide individual and group instruction to student-athletes to enhance their skills and performance.
- Help organize and coordinate team events, including matches, tournaments, and team-building activities.
- Monitor the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes, ensuring they maintain eligibility and balance their academic responsibilities.
- Support the head coach in developing strategies for competitive matches and analyzing performance.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team updates, schedules, and expectations.
- Assist in the recruitment of new players and promote the tennis program within the school and community.
- Ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained and in good condition.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on the latest coaching techniques and trends in tennis. Requirements
- Previous experience playing or coaching tennis at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of tennis fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other coaching staff.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage practice schedules and team events.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- A commitment to promoting the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
- Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends during the tennis season.
- A genuine passion for the sport of tennis and a desire to help young athletes reach their potential.
