Season Qualifications:

• Previous Junior Varsity Coaching experience is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Supervisory and sports management experience.
• Clear criminal history check, physical, and drug test, required; first aid training.
• Alternatives to the above qualification as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
• Maintains accurate statistics, records, and results of the season
• Models and enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• Maintains competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of the sport.
• Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in this sport. and is consistent in establishing criteria for eligibility in competition.
• Motivate, guide and mentor student-athletes, sub-varsity and assistant coaches.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the staff, students, parents and community members.
• Communicates with athletes using Remind or Final Form platforms.
• Works closely with the athletic director in scheduling contests.
• Assists with striping and maintaining the field.
• Responsible for equipment maintenance and inventory.
• Carries out work in accordance and compliance with all District procedures and Board policies.
• Must be able to perform the physical demands of this position, which includes sitting, standing, talking, seeing, and hearing. Occasionally, it will be expected to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motions many times and push or lift up to 50 lbs. such as boxes of books.
• Performs other functions and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
