Job Summary:

Swartz Creek High School seeks a dedicated and visionary Varsity Competitive Cheer Head Coach to lead our program. This pivotal role combines athletic leadership, mentoring, and program management to inspire and develop our student-athletes on and off the mat. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for sport, a strong commitment to fostering sportsmanship and academic achievement, and the ability to build a competitive and inclusive program that reflects the core values of Swartz Creek Community Schools. We seek a coach with excellent organizational and communication skills who can collaborate with players, families, school staff, and the broader community. The successful candidate will have a track record of leadership, a vision for program growth, and a dedication to the holistic development of student-athletes.

Minimum Qualifications :

Proven organizational skills, knowledge, and experience commensurate with the demands of a high school varsity program. Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate both young people and adults effectively. Availability to meet the time requirements of the position, including practices, games, travel, and related activities. Current certification in CPR and First Aid. Previous high school coaching experience preferred.

MHSAA CAP

1 or 2 certification preferred.

Responsibilities :

Serve as the direct leader and manager of all aspects of the varsity program, including player development, practice planning, equipment care, and supervision of athletes during practices, games, travel, and other team functions. Uphold and consistently enforce all school, district, league, and MHSAA rules and policies. Create a safe environment that prioritizes athlete welfare and promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline. Effectively communicate with players, parents, officials, fellow coaches, administrators, and community stakeholders to build a supportive and collaborative program. Collaborate with the district Athletic Director and other school personnel, responding promptly and professionally to guidance and instructions. Act as a role model in personal habits, language, and conduct, reflecting the values and expectations of Swartz Creek High School.
