Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to serve as the Head Boys' Hockey Coach for Grand Forks Central High School. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to the development and success of our student-athletes both on and off the ice. The Boys' Hockey Coach will be responsible for leading all aspects of the boys' hockey program, including but not limited to: Developing and implementing effective practice sessions and strategies to enhance player skills and team performance. Fostering a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork. Providing mentorship and guidance to student-athletes to support their academic and personal growth. Overseeing team logistics, including scheduling practices, team events, and travel arrangements. Collaborating with assistant coaches, athletic department staff, and parents to ensure the overall success of the program. Upholding all organizational and league policies and regulations. Teacher of life and leadership skills that will positively impact players.
Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level. Strong knowledge of hockey fundamentals, concepts, and structured hockey systems. Involved and supportive of the whole program (Varsity and JV) along with Grand Forks Youth Hockey. Understands the NDHSAA rules and regulations for hockey. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes to reach their full potential. Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment. Valid coaching certifications/licenses. Will have the opportunity to obtain certifications if hired. Background check clearance.
