Stipend in accordance with EDR contract as stated in the PEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
DESCRIPTION
Pennridge School District is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to serve as Freshman Coach for our Cheer program. This role supports the Head Coach in providing leadership, mentorship, and instruction to student-athletes while promoting a positive, inclusive team culture.
PRINCIPLE FUNCTION
Assist the Head Coach with planning and leading practices and competitions.
Support the development of student-athletes' skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Promote academic achievement and personal growth among athletes.
Assist with supervision and safety of all team members during activities.
Help manage equipment and maintain team standards of conduct.
Model positive behavior and represent the school in a professional manner.
Follow all school, district, league, and state athletic association rules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Some coaching or playing experience in the sport (preferably at the high school level).
Basic understanding of the game, rules, and strategy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and school staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPR/First Aid certification.
NFHS coaching certification or willingness to obtain.
Experience working with youth or student-athletes.
Familiarity with school athletic program policies and procedures.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Physical and Clearances must be dated within the last 12-months. TB test within the last 90-days.
