Must possess the ability to assess players.
Candidates will be interviewed and the candidate who ranks highest in the interview process and meets the requirements of the position will be recommended for the positionCompletion of a successful interview.

Broad Rock Middle School is a public middle school, dedicated to developing students to become problem solvers, critical thinkers, effective communicators, technology users, and contributing members to a global workforce and society. Broad Rock Middle School is a Grade 6-7-8 comprehensive middle school serving over 600 students.Position Summary:
The Head Coach is responsible for coaching the Boys Basketball program. The position also requires duties such as: Supervising athletes during practices and competitionInstructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities.

1-3 years of Head Coaching Basketball experience at the Middle School or High School level preferred.Comprehensive knowledge of the game is paramount. Extensive knowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures.

sponsored Fundamentals of Coaching CourseSuccessfully complete a standard First Aid and CPR course. Successfully complete the NFHS Concussion Course. (renewed annually)Successfully complete the Rhode Island State Component. (renewed annually)Successfully complete the online course NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest. (renewed annually)Successfully complete a Background check. Successfully complete any additional courses assigned by theRIIL/RIPCOA.
New coaching hires must complete all courses within six (6) months of date of hire.The Head Middle School Basketball Coach is required to abide by the

All coaches shall be paid as established in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the National Education Association South Kingstown.
