To Be Determined Job Description Mill River Union High School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and student-centered Varsity Golf Head Coach to lead and develop its high school golf program. The ideal candidate will foster athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth while creating a positive and competitive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and conduct all varsity golf practices and competitions Teach fundamental and advanced golf skills, rules, and course management strategies Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among student-athletes Develop practice schedules, match lineups, and seasonal training plans Monitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility requirements Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and matches Coordinate with athletic department staff on scheduling, transportation, and program needs Maintain and manage team equipment and uniforms Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administration Represent the school with professionalism at all events
Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience in golf or related sport preferred Strong knowledge of golf techniques, rules, and competitive play Ability to mentor and motivate high school student-athletes Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive team environment CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Must meet all school, district, and state coaching certification requirements
Working Conditions:
Seasonal position requiring after-school hours, evenings, and occasional weekends Outdoor work in varying weather conditions Travel to away matches required
