,Job description Blue Dolphin Swim Team is looking for a part-time Swim Coach to help lead our program. As a coach , you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive training program for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. You will provide guidance, instruction, and support to athletes while fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. Ideally, the candidate will be someone that comes with a strong technical background and is able to demonstrate initiative and contribute ideas in a community that is full of potential. The candidate must approach the program with a 'swimmer first' mentality and endeavor to make the in-person coaching sessions engaging, motivating and fun for the participants. Swim Coach Job Summary Coaches need to teach lessons in the water to help beginner athletes understand the 4 strokes of swimming such as diving, turning, and swimming rules.
Work Schedule:
- Friday 7:30 pm-8:30 pm • Saturday 4:30 pm- 5:30 pm
Qualifications:
Experience :
2 or more years of swim team coaching. •
Certifications :
Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches Certification and Current Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certification •
Background Check:
Must be able to successfully complete a background check. •
Communication:
Excellent verbal communication skills for effectively teaching and motivating young athletes. •
Patience:
A high level of patience and the ability to work with children of varying skill levels. •
Team Collaboration:
Ability to work well with the head coach, other lead coaches, assistants, and support staff, and adhere to the team objectives for your group. •
Adaptability:
Flexibility in adjusting coaching techniques to meet the needs of different swimmers. •
Time Management:
Ability to manage practice sessions efficiently to cover planned drills and activities. •
Safety Awareness:
Keen understanding of and ability to enforce pool safety protocols. •
Flexibility:
Adaptability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
