The Division of Hematology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has an opening for a full-time Associate Professor/Professor to lead the classical hematology section, and is seeking a Board certified or board eligible hematologist for this purpose. The new faculty member would be expected to participate in clinical and translational research related to hematology, and to engage in training of medical residents, fellows, and others associated with the Division. The Hematology Division of the Department of Medicine, University of Colorado School of Medicine, has its own very successful and highly efficient Clinical Trials Unit, allowing for a robust program in drug development and other studies, and includes tissue banking. There are extensive resources and opportunities for basic science, translational, and clinical research on campus in hematology and through cross-divisional networking. The Division is fully committed to the clinical and academic success of the new faculty member. The individual would become part of a fantastic group of academic clinicians establishing the University of Colorado as a center of excellence in hematology.

Key Responsibilities:

Ambulatory-based patient care, caring for patients with hematologic pathologic conditions Partner with Hospital and School of Medicine partners to build a hematology program Supervising nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, fellows, residents, and medical students as needed Carrying out a research program Participating in and leading outreach activities, including outreach clinics outside the CU-Anschutz campus, educational events for patients and their families, camps for patients, work with patient advocacy groups, and other similar initiatives

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Rank at the time of appointment will be based on the candidate's demonstrated contributions and experience in teaching, clinical, research, and/or service to the field. Assistant/Associate Professor:

MD or DO degree Board Certified in Hematology Eligible for Colorado state medical license Experience in treating patients with classical hematological disorders Able to obtain credentials and privileges at the University of Colorado Hospital and with

CU Medicine Preferred Qualifications:

Established research program Experience with regulatory and quality improvement activities

Assistant Professor:

$220,000

• $275,000

Associate Professor:

$220,000

• $300,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
