Job Description

Florida Southern College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Voice and Opera Theater position in the Music Department. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate voice lessons and lead the opera theatre class. Additional responsibilities may include teaching French and German diction courses and other courses as assigned. Teaching load is the equivalent of 12 hours each semester. The ideal candidate will have completed a Doctorate in Vocal Performance with emphasis in Opera and have professional experience as an opera singer and producing or directing operatic productions. Candidates who are ABD may be also be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching and be skilled in methods of engaged learning and the use of instructional technology.
