Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Chowan University invites applications for a full-time, in-person, 9-month faculty appointment in the Department of Criminal Justice. The appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Instructor (non-tenure track), depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and academic advising Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into the curriculum. Willingness to collaborate with colleagues to enhance academic programs.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into the curriculum. Willingness to collaborate with colleagues to enhance academic programs. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral Commitment to the mission of a Christian university and student success.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A
Master's in Criminal Justice or related field is required. A Ph. D. in Criminal Justice is preferred. Experience teaching at the university level is preferred.
