School of Business Position Summary The School of Business at SUNY Geneseo invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellow through SUNY's Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus program. As New York State's public honors college and a nationally recognized public liberal arts college, Geneseo provides a warm and dynamic learning environment for more than 4,000 students. The AACSB-accredited School of Business is home to over 900 students and offers seven undergraduate majors and two graduate majors. The PRODiG+ Fellowship is designed with two primary goals: (1) increase the number and share of excellent and diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthen the pathway for retention and support of these candidates. The fellowship is for a 12-month appointment for two years, with the goal of conversion to a tenure-track assistant professorship at the successful conclusion of the fellowship. This STEM-designated undergraduate program is designed to empower students with a robust combination of technical AI expertise, business knowledge, analytical skills, and business acumen, allowing them to thrive in dynamic business and technological environments.
Primary job responsibilities include:
Teaching two 3-credit courses every Fall and Spring semester in the Applied AI program. Courses may include Intro to Applied AI in Business, AI Ethics, Business Intelligence, and other courses that align with the faculty's academic preparation and professional experience and meet the schools evolving needs. Contributing to the field through published scholarship and other scholarly activities consistent with the AACSB qualification of Scholarly Academics. Collaborating with the other business faculty members to support curriculum development and innovation, including updating existing courses and developing new courses and/or programs in the Applied AI field. Participating in other school-wide service, including advising and mentoring students, at a reduced service load. Required Qualifications Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship. Have a PhD or relevant terminal degree in Business Administration, Management Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited higher education institution, prior to starting date (August 23, 2027). Demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Such experience may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/ unpaid/community service; or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations. Scholarly potential demonstrated by high-quality working papers in the applied AI field. Preferred Qualifications Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows. From a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor's degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans. Experienced in teaching college-level courses. Experienced in presenting conference papers on AI or Applied AI at major academic conferences. Professionally certified in AI-related fields.
