Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the execution of a portfolio of leadership development initiatives and solutions for leaders across the enterprise. This role will focus primarily on the growth and development of leaders who lead a collaborative team of leaders to achieve results. This role is responsible for supporting the design, development, and facilitation of leadership development programs and other customized solutions that align with our mission and meet the needs of the business. Working under the guidance of a Senior Manager, the Specialist supports program delivery, develops and maintains program materials, and contributes to needs assessment and analysis efforts. The ideal candidate will have some experience in program management, adult learning, instructional design, and LMS management, and will bring a strong interest in facilitation and a keen attention to detail. The role requires close collaboration with program managers and T&OD partners to support seamless program delivery across the enterprise. The Specialist will report to the Senior Manager, Leadership Development. Penske's corporate offices are located in Reading, PA, 75 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Candidates that are within a commutable distance are preferred as this is an onsite position.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
In partnership with the Leadership Development team and appropriate stakeholders: Program Delivery Operate and maintain learning technologies and systems used in the delivery of instructional and/or interactive programs or courses. Track completion data and key learning metrics; in addition to leveraging other systems and technologies needed for reporting purposes. Assist in the scheduling and administration of sessions. Instructional Design Create and maintain training deliverables such as participant guides, facilitator guides, training slide decks, job-aids, and eLearning modules. Project Work Support the design and implementation of short-term solutions with subject matter experts to develop skills and promote role clarity across the enterprise. Collaborate on strategic initiatives and projects. Support needs assessments to determine organizational learning and capability requirements. Other projects and tasks as directed by Senior Manager. Facilitation Facilitate interactive instructor- led training sessions (in-person and virtually), meeting participants where they are and providing a holistic development experience that leads them toward their growing edge.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in related area of study (i.e., OD, HR, I/O Psychology) or equivalent experience required. 2+ years of adult learning and development experience preferred 1 year of virtual and in-person facilitation and presentation skills preferred 1 year of Instructional Design experience preferred Knowledgeable in Articulate 360, including Storyline 360 and Rise 360 Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred Strong project and program management skills preferred Strong attention to detail Technical skills and systems knowledge of relevant learning tools (Microsoft Suite, Zoom, Adobe, etc.) Demonstrates past proficiency of: Facilitation skills (Virtual and in-person), instructional design, performance consulting skills, and project management Ability to partner with operational groups and other talent development team members to ensure successful design and implementation of programs Strong professional presence, communication, and interpersonal skills; quickly garners credibility with senior executives as well as associates at all levels of the organization Sincere hunger and curiosity for continuous learning and development Self-directed problem-solver who works well in ambiguous and complex organization processes and systems- Must have knowledge of group dynamics Deep personal humility and strong professional will Safeguards the integrity and confidentiality of organizational strategy, associate data and information, and intellectual property rights to the highest standards Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
