Job Summary Academie Da Vinci Charter School, a tuition-free K-8 public charter school is seeking an energetic and passionate Part-Time K-3 Dance Teacher (0.6 position) to inspire young learners through the art of dance and creative movement. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate dance curricula that incorporate elements of ballet, creative movement, and choreography suitable for K-3 students Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages participation and creativity Teach dance techniques and performance skills while integrating visual arts, theater, and music to enrich students' artistic development Foster positive behavior management strategies to support children's social-emotional growth and classroom engagement Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects involving photography, sewing, or other creative arts to enhance student learning experiences Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support individual growth in dance and related arts Maintain organized records of lesson plans, student participation, and developmental milestones Qualifications Proven experience working with children in educational or youth program settings, especially preschool or early elementary levels Strong background in teaching visual & performing arts, including dance instruction such as ballet or contemporary styles Knowledge of curriculum development tailored for young learners' physical and artistic development Skills in choreography, dance instruction, and working with musical instruments or musical accompaniment during lessons Familiarity with classroom management techniques and childhood development principles Experience teaching theater arts or creative movement is highly desirable Ability to incorporate sewing or other craft activities into arts education when appropriate Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage young children effectively Valid Florida teaching certificate Ability to successfully complete all required background screening and fingerprinting Schedule Part-time, 0.6 position Three days per week School-year schedule Specific workdays and hours will be discussed during the interview process Join us in shaping the next generation of artists by inspiring creativity through movement!
