San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation Word processing High school diploma or GED Typing Grammar Experience Editing Custom report preparation Full Job Description The position of Secretary, Director of Curriculum and Instruction will be available immediately at East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. The deadline for submitting an application is until the position is filled.
Primary Purpose:
Under moderate supervision organize and manage the routine work activities of a central administrative department office and provide clerical support to a director or department head and other staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide executive secretarial duties to ensure maximum efficiency for Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Coordinator of Early Childhood and Curriculum Support, and other staff when needed. Prepare correspondence, reports, recommendations, charts, etc. Obtain, gather, and organize pertinent data related to district curriculum programs. Maintain filing systems and process incoming correspondence. Place and receive telephone calls and record messages. Perform purchasing, obtain quotes, and bookkeeping for PreK4SA, Early Education Allotment, Grants awarded to Curriculum and Instruction department, and library services. Support ECISD Professional Development Academy. Reproduce instructional materials to support projects. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certificate:
High school graduate or equivalent
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must possess above-average skills in the areas of typing, word processing, editing, and composing letters/reports Must demonstrate good grammar skills Must perform assigned duties with minimum supervision Must possess good communication skills for contact with the public Ability to multi-task numerous complex administrative activities Experience with basic bookkeeping software preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress. Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching. Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional district-wide travel.
