Job Description:
The Department of Brock Transformative Learning Programs in the division of Academic Affairs isseeking an Assistant Director (GA050). The Brock Transformative Learning Programs office manages a growing suite of programs for thecampus. The first and most visible program is known as the Brock Experiences for Transformative Learning. Established in 2016 by the largestgift in Longwood's history, the Brock Experiences are a growing group of immersive, citizenship-focused courses at sites around the UnitedStates. Exploring the important issues of our time, new courses are announced and, after a development period, are added to the slate ofsignature experiences available to students on a rotating basis. In 2025, the office added the Brock Leaders living-learning community toits suite of programs. First-year students selected to be a part of the Brock Leaders share a common suite of courses, experiences designedto aid in their transition to campus, and a living community. In return for participation in the program, Brock Leaders may enroll in aBrock Experience at no cost. Future areas of development for the office include citizenship initiatives, campus-wide speaker series, andopportunities for engagement with alumni. The Assistant Director will take a primary role in working with students related to Brockprograms. They will be instrumental in helping students navigate the application and enrollment process for Brock Experiences by planningand hosting recruitment events, advising students on course options, and managing the scholarship application process. The AD will alsoassist with the Brock Leaders community by arranging for student success workshops, teaching a section of

(as credentials allow),participating in the planning of the Citizen Leader retreat, and advising students. The Assistant Director will support the office with itsexisting programs and participate in the creation of new ones. For the Brock Experiences, the AD will assist with the logistics ofprofessional development opportunities for faculty and staff teams. The AD will be responsible for publicity and marketing of the departmentincluding through social media, public presentations, and event staffing. This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and isrequired to work in person on Longwood University's campus. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Requirements:
Required qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate field such as HigherEducation, Curriculum/Instructional Design for Education, or a related field Experience working with and supporting students incollege success Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to work independently in a professional anddetail-oriented manner Willingness to work on nights and weekends Preferred qualifications: Experience working with or supporting campus programming Experience managing social media
