Visions Academy of Performing Arts is growing our program to include musical theater and acting, and we're looking for a teacher who can bring the stage to life for our students: acting, singing, stage presence, and the confidence that comes with all of it. About Visions Visions Academy of Performing Arts is a family-oriented performing arts studio in Cordova, TN. We serve students of all ages — from tiny dancers to competitive teens — and we believe training in the arts builds confident, creative, well-rounded young people. Our teachers aren't just instructors; they're mentors our students look up to and our studio family counts on. About the Role You'll design and teach weekly musical theater and acting classes for students across all ages and levels — from playful, imagination-driven drama for our littlest performers to scene work, vocal performance, and audition skills for older students. A year from now, your students should be walking taller, projecting louder, and lighting up a stage — and asking when the next class starts. What You'll Do Teach weekly musical theater, acting, and drama classes for students ranging from preschool through teens Build age-appropriate lesson plans covering acting fundamentals, musical theater performance, stage movement, and character work Prepare students for performances, showcases, and recitals throughout the season Create a classroom that is structured, encouraging, and genuinely fun — where every student feels seen Communicate with the studio owner and families about student progress and class needs Uphold studio policies, schedules, and the warm, professional culture our families expect

What We're Looking For Required:

Experience performing in and/or teaching musical theater, acting, or drama Experience working with children or teens (teaching, directing, camps, or youth programs) Strong classroom presence — you can hold the attention of a room of 6-year-olds and challenge a room of teenagers Reliability and professionalism — our families plan their weeks around your classes Must pass a background check Nice to have: A degree or formal training in theater, musical theater, or a related field Vocal coaching or music direction experience Experience directing youth productions or showcases Dance or movement background (a plus at a dance studio!) Schedule & Pay This is a part-time position with weekly afternoon/evening classes during the studio season. Competitive hourly pay, based on experience.
