Elementary School Yearbook Coordinator Position Purpose The Elementary School Yearbook Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, designing, and publishing the school yearbook. The coordinator will work collaboratively with administration, faculty, staff, students, and families to produce a high-quality publication that highlights student achievement, school traditions, academic experiences, extracurricular activities, and special events while ensuring that all students are represented in a positive and inclusive manner.
Reports To:
Principal Term of Employment 2026-2027 School Year; Compensation of a $1,000 annually. Primary Responsibilities Coordinate all aspects of the annual yearbook project from planning through distribution. Attend and document school events, programs, assemblies, performances, field trips, recognition ceremonies, and other school-sponsored activities. Design and organize yearbook layouts, themes, page content, captions, and graphics. Collaborate with teachers, staff, student groups, and administration to collect photographs and content. Ensure every grade level, classroom, program, and student group is represented fairly and appropriately. Make every reasonable effort to feature all students throughout the publication. Maintain accuracy of names, captions, photographs, and event descriptions. Serve as liaison with the yearbook vendor or publishing company. Monitor production timelines and ensure all deadlines are met. Coordinate yearbook promotion, ordering, sales, and distribution as directed by the principal. Maintain organized digital records and photography files. Follow all district policies regarding student privacy, media releases, and appropriate publication practices. Oversee and facilitate the sale of yearbooks; including but not limited to order forms, purchase requisitions, ordering, distribution, and other various items related to the sales. Professional Expectations Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and positive leadership. Maintain confidentiality of student and personnel information. Represent the school and district positively at all events and activities. Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students, families, and community members. Promote an inclusive environment that celebrates the accomplishments of all students. Use district technology and resources responsibly. Comply with Pendleton County Board of Education policies and West Virginia Department of Education requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience with photography, graphic design, publishing software, or yearbook development preferred. Strong written communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously. Performance Indicators Publication of a professional, accurate, and visually appealing yearbook. Representation of all grade levels, students, and school programs. Timely completion of yearbook project milestones. Positive collaboration with school staff and administration.
