Pendleton County Schools Position Title:
Parent Coordinator Hours:
Up to 425 hours per year
Compensation:
West Virginia Basic Minimum Wage or as approved by the Board of Education Position Summary The Parent Coordinator serves as a liaison between families, schools, and the community to strengthen parent engagement and increase participation in school activities and programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate parent and family engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with school staff to increase parent participation in school events and student learning opportunities.
  • Establish partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and agencies to secure resources and support for students and families.
  • Promote parent workshops, meetings, family nights, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding school programs and services.
  • Assist with outreach efforts through newsletters, social media, phone calls, and other communication methods.
  • Maintain records of parent engagement activities and participation.
  • Provide a welcoming environment for families and encourage strong school-family relationships.
  • Attend meetings and professional development as assigned.
  • Perform other duties related to family and community engagement as assigned or assigned by the Superintendent. Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with families, schools, community organizations, or volunteer programs preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Basic computer and technology skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability, initiative, and organizational skills. Professional Expectations

  • Maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, families, and community members.
  • Demonstrate respect, integrity, and a commitment to student success.
