An Elementary and Secondary School Administrator supervises teachers, counselors, librarians and other school staff, manages a school budget and finances, provides instructional leadership and monitors progress toward local, state and federal educational standards. Directs student discipline and works with parents and community partners. May work in other school district administrative or professional positions such as school district superintendent.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school graduate with additional training. 3-5 year of previous experience Experience with word processing, spreadsheets and database software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Records:
Coordinate student enrollment with class secretaries, counselors and the deans. Maintain complete confidentiality of student records. Enforce legal requirements for dissemination of records. Maintain and update transcripts and cumulative folders, including preparation of folders for all new students. Maintain student special education records. Provide statistical information for all college & National Merit applications as well as provide transcript request. Prepare transcripts and cumulative folders for microfilming. Assist in preparation of student records for legal proceedings. Close out senior transcripts and thin out cum folders of graduating class. Record external test scores, advance placement results and verify GPA for transcripts. Prepare data processing sheets for maintaining computer record file. Organize and file grades at interim and marking periods. Prepare various federal & state reports. Greet visitors and assist students that enter office.
Scheduling:
Meet with other schools for Scheduling Timeline. Develop/maintain the Course Request Guides. Create course sections as appropriately determined by the Dean and District staffing. Pre-schedule students in PowerSchool. Build the Master Schedule in PowerSchool. Keep track of all Community staff members and room assignments if assigned a room. Print requested reports related to the Master Schedule by the deans , counselors and department chairs. Provide training/assistance in PowerSchool. Enter student counts for each course by grade in a spreadsheet for staffing purposes. Work with the counselors and assist with course overrides. Keep track of new and departing staff in the form of a report and in PowerSchool. Communicate, as needed, with PowerSchool support personnel at Balas. Seek further professional growth and development through available training. Attend Administrative, Counseling, or Department Chair Meetings when scheduling is on the agenda. Assist with Count Day- Student Accounting and follow-up. (original said "responsible for count day") Answer routine telephone inquiries for the Community Resource (CR) department and the Assistant Dean. Create new CR courses in PowerSchool, as needed and manually add them to student schedules. Work with CR department chair to coordinate CR contract caseloads and reports needed. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job. Other duties as assigned.
