GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This is a school year position, with days of work aligning with the Ansonia Public Schools Calendar of 180 school days.
EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with students in the grade levels served by the school; certified teacher is preferred but certification is not required. Must have a bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience as outlined above. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, administrators and parents. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Possesses the ability to relate to students with behavioral problems. Demonstrates effective problem solving, organizational skills, planning, record keeping and computer literacy skills. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education or the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
JOB GOALS
To aid in the integration and coordination of the online platform in order to broaden the experiences of students beyond the scope of the traditional course load
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists students to navigate the online TechTrep platform Knowledge in a variety of subjects in order to accommodate the wide range of topics offered in the TechTrep platform for students to be properly engaged Monitors and guides students through the various online courses available, setting checkpoints to regularly ensure student completion Observes student progress in the TechTrep online platform, monitoring student's online activity to evaluate their coursework and productivity Integrates regular classroom work along with coursework found on TechTrep platform to ensure student growth and understanding of the materials, bolstering topics in the lessons while ensuring concepts are being taught and understood Communicates directly with parents when issues arise or merit should be rewarded to engage both students and family in the learning process Practices good classroom management not only monitoring student's behavior but ensuring that personal and school property is respected and valued This is a non-union position and salary is dependent on experience.
