QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Kentucky Certification in Instructional Leadership/ Principal
Three (3) years of successful teaching experience with demonstrated evidence of and potential for success in administrative/supervisory responsibilities
Demonstrates knowledge of current curriculum and instructional trends and techniques.
REPORTS TO
Principal
BASIC FUNCTION
Provide administrative service and technical assistance to students, staff and parents. Assist the principal with supervision of staff and students and assist in planning and implementing highly effective instruction, curriculum, assessment and planning.
Representative Duties:
Maintains and communicates to students and staff a high academic expectation.
Assists with staff and student supervision.
Administers student disciplinary procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
Leads and supports staff in data gathering, organization and evaluation.
Implements and supports the goals determined by the district and/or school.
Works collaboratively with staff to successfully develop instructional goals and educational initiatives.
Works collaboratively with staff to successfully establish and maintain a positive school climate.
Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive plans designed to meet school and student achievement needs.
Demonstrate and support staff with identifying and implementing varied instructional strategies.
Supervises and evaluates staff as required.
Mentors new teachers.
Maintains regular attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Curriculum, instruction and assessment.
Record-keeping techniques.
Proficient computer usage and data entry.
Oral and written communication skills.
Research methods and report writing techniques.
Laws, rules and regulations related to assigned activities.
Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Ability to:
Perform the responsibilities as outlined.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Maintain records and prepare reports.

Learn, apply and explain policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Maintain current knowledge of program rules, regulations, requirements and restrictions.
Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.
Work independently with little direction.
Meet schedules and time lines.
Physical Demands:
Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing
Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching
Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights.

Requirements:
Valid Kentucky Certification as Principal.
