Position Purpose:
The Principal serves as the instructional and operational leader of a school, responsible for establishing a safe, supportive, and high-performing learning environment that promotes student achievement and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide instructional leadership to improve student achievement across all grade levels Supervise, evaluate, and support all certified and classified staff Establish and maintain a positive school culture focused on student success and high expectations Ensure student safety and appropriate supervision at all times Develop and manage the school budget, master schedule, and daily operations Implement and monitor effective discipline policies and procedures Use data to guide instructional decisions and school improvement efforts Communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and the community Support professional growth and development of all staff Collaborate with central office and community partners to enhance school programs Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher Valid North Carolina Principal (012) license Successful experience as an assistant principal or school administrator preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong understanding of K-12 curriculum, instruction, and assessment Ability to lead school improvement and manage change effectively Demonstrated ability to build relationships and foster collaboration Knowledge of school law, policy, and compliance requirements Effective communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
