Job Description:
Raritan Valley Community College is seeking one part-time federal work-study student for office support to the Office of K-12 Partnerships. This work-study position is available for Academic Year 2026-2027. We would like someone to be available 15-20 hours per week, but we are flexible and can adjust to fit your class schedule. There is a requirement to be committed to the position for one academic year (fall and spring semester). This position is on-campus only, reporting to and under the supervision of the Director of K-12 Partnerships.
Essential Duties:
Front Desk Coverage:
serving as a first point of contact; welcoming students/families into our office.
Respond to inquiries via:
in-person, telephone, voicemail, & video chat. Ensure that persons waiting are being directed appropriately and have their needs met while waiting on someone. Assist the K-12 office with various outreach efforts, including creating spreadsheets for various entities, including Academies & Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) & other events as directed. Support Academy & CEP events, such as Academy Junior Orientation & Academy Graduate Luncheon (set-up, check-in, clean-up, etc.). Assist in digitizing K-12 documents, such as CEP Agreement Forms & Scholarship Forms, by scanning and saving documents into the K-12 SharePoint site. Periodically monitor K-12 Partnerships email. Follow FERPA guidelines.
Job Requirements:
Students must be federal work-study eligible and in good academic standing. Strong customer service skills. Strict adherence to FERPA guidelines & protection of student confidentiality. Ability to work independently and to know when to ask for assistance. Strong understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Word & Excel. Willing to be flexible in work assignments as they will change at different points in the year.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual - English & Spanish.
Additional Information:
Federal Work-Study positions are for financial aid applicants whose applications deem eligibility. Please check with the Financial Aid office to determine eligibility. The starting rate is $16 per hour. Must not exceed 20 hours per week and is based on student's schedule and availability. This position is limited by the work-study grant. Fall and Spring Semesters only (No Summer).
