$92,500 - $95,000Duties:
1. Demonstrate instructional leadership in providing a positive and productive environment for students and staff; place high priority on the needs and welfare of students in the context of preparing them for success beyond high school. 2. Assume responsibility for student conduct and discipline 3. Assist principal in the collection, analysis and use of data to improve all aspects of the high school including instructional and building management issues. 4. Promote sound/effective educational practices that are supported by research, exhibit flexible thinking and openness to new ideas. 5. Effectively engage staff, parents, students, and community members in shared decision-making opportunities. 6. Be visible/active by regularly visiting classrooms and attending before and after school events and activities on evenings and weekends. 7. Direct or otherwise participate in a shared-decision making hiring process that consistently recommends the employment of candidates who are highly skilled, service oriented, and student centered. 8. Develop and implement efficient and effective plans in the following areas: a. Student conduct and discipline b. School budget and finance c. Instructional support and staffing d. Guidance and master scheduling e. Staff development f. PBIS, RTI, APPR and Student of the Month programs g. Student activities/events/co-curricular h. Exam scheduling, proctoring and scanning schedules i. Use of technology to improve/support instruction, communications and administration j. Instruction and assessment k. BEDS coordination l. Student attendance m. Building safety team and planning n. Opening and closing school 9. Assists the Principal with the supervision and evaluation of certified and support staff. 10. Coordinate principal's responsibilities in the principal's absence. 11. Coordinate components of the schools' Instructional Support Team to monitor students and create appropriate academic behavioral plans. 12. Actively participate in district-wide activities pertaining to a variety of issues including instructional and organizational development. 13. Work collegially and collaboratively with the District and building leadership teams. 14. Assist the Director of Athletics and/or Assistant to the Athletic Director in managing student conduct and monitoring eligibility for athletics and extracurricular activities. 15. Attend CSE meetings, 504 meetings, manifestation determination, Superintendent's Hearings or other parent meetings when necessary to advocate for the students under the guidance of school district policy and New York State Law. 16. Other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.Minimum Qualifications:
1. Valid New York State SAS and /or SBL Certificate 2. Master's Degree with emphasis on educational leadership and instruction. 3. Minimum of 5 years experience in education, including teaching and leadership roles. 4.Proven ability to:
a. Develop positive relationships with 9-12 grade students, staff, parents, and others in the community. b. Improve student achievement through the effective use of data, research, and staff development. c. Exercise a strong work ethic, good judgment, and integrity on a daily basis. d. Effectively deal with student discipline and school issues. e. Use technology to improve instruction, communication, and administration. f. Develop an effective high school master schedule in collaboration with the principal g. Work collaboratively with an administrative team to accomplish the building mission and vision.Application Procedure:
