Grand Island High School, 7:25 am-2:25 pm
Salary:
BA Step 1 $49,447 or MA Step 1 $52,190 per GITA contract
Minimum Qualifications:
  • New York State Certified Teacher in Earth Science 7-12, Chemistry 7-12, or Biology 7-12; dual certification in two or more sciences preferred.
  • Experience teaching high school Biology and/or Earth & Space Science.
  • Familiarity with the current New York State Science Learning Standards.
  • Ability to use authentic and traditional assessments to differentiate instruction and improve student achievement.
  • Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to the school's mission and vision.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Evidence of positive and effective classroom management skills.
Qualifications Desired:
  • Experience with high school science curriculum development preferred.
  • Experience with data-driven instruction and delivery of academic intervention services for science desired.
