This work involves responsibility for performing clerical and administrative secretarial work of a responsible and confidential nature for the Superintendent of Schools. Work is performed in accordance with general instructions received from the Superintendent, with considerable leeway permitted for the exercise of independent judgment. The successful candidate will independently compose and type routine correspondence, applying a knowledge of departmental regulations and operations; take and transcribe dictation of letters, articles, memoranda and other materials; screen telephone calls, correspondence and meetings of the Superintendent; coordinate and arrange appointment schedules for the Superintendent and schedule special meetings and events. Further, the Secretary to the Superintendent will compile and type various monthly and annual statistical reports including but not limited to: workers' compensation, billing, healthcare, civil service, etc.; prepares information for Board of Education; supports the Superintendent in preparing for Superintendent Hearings, as well as home-school documentation requirements, and assist as directed and performs as assigned, additional duties and/or tasks delegated by the Superintendent or other designated administrative superior. Commissioned as Notary Public preferred.
