DSHS Lakeland Village Assistant Superintendent We are seeking a dedicated leader to join our team as the Assistant Superintendent at Lakeland Village to support the Superintendent in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling client programs and operations. Developmental Disabilities Administration strives to develop and implement public policies that will promote individual worth, self-respect, and dignity such that each individual is valued as a contributing member of the community. Lakeland Village provides support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. You will join our leadership team in overseeing the 24-hour residential habilitation center and ensure the delivery of quality service and supports for people we serve to be empowered to live their best life possible and maximize independence. As a member of both the Lakeland Village and DDA management teams, you will also have significant impact on agency policies, overall budget, labor relations, and facility operation issues. Some of what you'll be doing Plan, lead, organize, and manage the work performed by the organization to ensure effective services are delivered with optimum use of our resources. Oversee strategic operations by developing long-range goals and implementation plans. Conduct personnel actions including hiring, training, motivation, evaluations, appreciation, and corrective action. Participate in Union/Management Communications Committees. Work with Program Area Team (PAT) Directors to ensure the quality and compliance of our services.
Who should apply:
Professionals with a Bachelor's degree in human services, sociology, social work counseling, psychology, education, or a degree in health services, nursing, public administration, or health care administration; and, five years of professional experience supervising or managing a social service or healthcare setting. A Master or Doctoral degree may be substituted for two years of the supervisory/management experience. or, Equivalent relevant professional experience. What we're looking for Working knowledge and ability to understand and develop program strategies to maintain federal certification . Expert in communicating effectively orally and in writing with management, peers, facility staff, clients, client families, and the public as required to carry out the assigned duties of the position. Ability to understand budgeting and fiscal management, and develop fiscal plans to run an efficient ICF/NF. Ability to provide consultation, training, and technical assistance to subordinates on a wide range of issues such as human resources, regulatory issues, and programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Expert at reading, interpreting, and implementing policies, rules, and regulations of considerable complexity. Demonstrated the ability to identify issues of a serious and/or sensitive nature that need to be reported to supervisor/chain of command. Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment; handle multiple urgent issues at the same time, prioritize as needed and keep key agency personnel notified as to client issues, environmental issues, and personnel issues. Experienced at interpreting department/division/program policies and operating procedures to staff, clients, families, and others. Champion for Human Rights issues for individuals with intellectual disabilities in areas of choice, access, and safety.
