JOB TITLE
Elementary School Teacher
JOB GOAL
The Elementary school teacher shall prayerfully assume responsibility for the academic and spiritual instruction of assigned students in designated subject areas that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible Christians to the glory of God.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Holds or is eligible for American Association of Christian Schools certification with the appropriate teaching endorsement A committed Christian who strives to reflect God's love through words, actions, and attitude A passion for education accompanied baby a strong desire to build a Christian community of learning Such other qualifications of academic, professional, and personal excellence as the Gardendale Christian Academy School Board may specify
PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3 years of classroom teaching experience Ability to obtain higher degrees and certifications as may be required
SUPERVISES
Classroom students, Aides as assigned
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a 180 day contract position. The starting salary for this position is $25,000. Daily hours are from 7:30a.m. to 3:10 on regular school days.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, prepares, and delivers lesson plans and materials that facilitate active learning. Integrates Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and classroom activities by building on a biblical-worldview in every area Prepares written lesson plans reflecting thoroughness in preparation Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and attempts to develop positive teacher/student relationships Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies in order to meet the needs of all students in relations to curriculum goals within the framework of the schools philosophy Demonstrates adequate knowledge of computer technology in order to post grades, communicate with parents, and present lessons using classroom technology devices Works cooperatively with other faculty and staff members Assists in curriculum development and in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials as needed. Cooperates with the administration in implementing policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school Evaluates student progress on a continuing basis, maintains accurate attendance and academic records to meet the demands for comprehensive knowledge of each students progress. Attends scheduled faculty meetings Represents the school in a favorable and professional manner to the schools constituency and the general public Performs other duties which may be assigned by the administration
