View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Applicants for Transitional Kindergarten positions must meet the following requirements: Multiple Subject Credential with EL Authorization AND At least ONE of the following: 1. At least 24 units in early childhood education (ECE Units), childhood development (CD Units) or both. OR 2. Professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool age children comparable to the 24 units of education described in sub paragraph (A) as determined by the Local Education Agency. [The La Mesa-Spring Valley School District has defined Professional Experience as: Two or more years teaching experience in ECE/Preschool, TK or kindergarten classroom AND a minimum of six (6) units of ECE/CD completed by June 30, 2026, with a commitment to complete additional units to ensure a cumulative total of 12 ECE/CD units by June 30, 2027. OR 3. A Child Development teacher permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). In addition to required documents, all applicants must upload a completed TK Credential Requirement Form.
