An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

About us Principles of Faith Academy is a small private Christian school expanding to a new location in beautiful Lakeland, Florida. Our goal is to hire exceptional staff to connect with our great commission of strengthening our students academically and spiritually. Principles of Faith Academy (PFA) is accepting applications for a full-time elementary teacher. This candidate will possess a true passion for educating our next generation of students. PFA believes in providing students with the best environment to develop their skills and are seeking individuals who share this vision and focus on student development (spiritually) as well as academic performance. Candidates will possess 3+ years teaching experience (preferred). Bachelor's Degree in education required, or AA/AS with 3 years teaching experience at public or private school. Florida state certification preferred or must be able to be certified in the state of Florida. Candidates will manage a small multigrade class of 4th and 5th graders (1:16) Job Responsibilities Salary 10 -month without summer compensation. All other student vacation and holidays are paid.

Instructional:
creates a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies. Encourages student enthusiasm for the learning process and the development of good study habits. Facilitate assigned curriculum, access supplemental resources and assist in selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials. Provide a positive learning environment for students. Be responsive and supportive to students' needs.
Classroom Management:
maintain a safe environment for students and staff and manage behavior problems in the classroom. Ability to communicate with parents about their children. Facilite student evaluation as required Work well individually and as a part of a team
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
