An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Paton-Churdan Community School District is seeking a .6 FTE Title I Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The anticipated schedule is Tuesday - Thursday, although some flexibility may be available. The ideal candidate will embrace the Rocket culture, have experience with Title I programming, reading and/or math interventions, or instruction at the primary elementary level. Candidates should also be comfortable analyzing student assessment data, identifying areas of need, planning targeted instruction, monitoring student progress, and working collaboratively with classroom teachers and other staff. A valid Iowa teaching license is required. An elementary education endorsement and experience providing small-group instruction or academic interventions are preferred.
