What they do
An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

August 2026 Part-Time Position- Masters Degree in Reading, preferred but not required
- Prior experience as a reading specialist, classroom teacher, or special educator preferred but not required.
- Orton-Gillingham / Wilson experience preferred but not required
- Capable of leading small groups of students with diverse needs to achieve optimal growth in reading and to foster a love of and engagement in reading.
- Able to use multiple measures to tailor instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Able to integrate constructive feedback into practice.
- Ability to foster positive relationships and consistent communication with teachers across all grade levels.
- MA Teacher Certification required
- Compensation per Education Association of Plymouth and Carver Agreement
