An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.
Join Our Community Northstar Montessori is seeking a warm, experienced, and passionate Lead Primary Montessori Teacher to guide a Primary classroom where children are encouraged to become confident, independent, and joyful learners. As our Lead Teacher, you will create a peaceful, engaging Montessori environment, build meaningful relationships with children and families, and collaborate with a supportive team dedicated to authentic Montessori education. This is a permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) position in Saline, Michigan. Applicants must hold a Primary Montessori Teaching Credential and live within commuting distance. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain a beautiful, organized Montessori classroom. Guide each child's academic, social, emotional, and physical development through observation and individualized lessons. Foster a calm, respectful, and joyful learning environment. Build positive partnerships with families through open communication. Collaborate with the Director, Assistant Teachers, and support staff. Mentor Assistant Teachers and model Montessori best practices. Participate in staff meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development. Maintain a safe, welcoming classroom and comply with State of Michigan requirements.
