Job Description

We're Hiring:

Part-Time English Language Learners (ELL/ESL) Instructor - Western Piedmont Community College Do you love helping adults build confidence in English? WPCC is looking for a part-time ELL instructor(s) to teach English Language Learners right in our community including classes at a local elementary school and a local church.

Schedule:

Mondays & Tuesdays Morning session: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM Evening session: 6:00 PM - 8:00

PM Location:

Community-based (elementary school & church sites in the Morganton area) — this is an in-person position. College and Career Readiness does not offer remote teaching opportunities.

Pay:

Bachelor's Degree:

$35.00/hour

Master's Degree or Higher:

$36.00/hour What you'll do: Teach beginning through advanced ESL to adult multilingual learners Build lessons around listening, speaking, reading, writing, and everyday communication skills Help students prepare for jobs, further education, and life in their community Create a welcoming, culturally responsive classroom What we're looking for: Strong oral and written communication skills One of the following:

NCCCS ESOL

Credential, TESOL Certification, a Bachelor's/Master's in TESOL, ESL, Applied Linguistics, English (ESL emphasis), or Education (ESL concentration) or the ability to obtain a recognized ESL credential within 6 months Nice to have: Experience teaching adult English learners Familiarity with CASAS assessments A background in workforce ESL or cross-cultural communication This posting is part of our continuous adjunct pool — applications are reviewed as teaching needs arise.
