Duties Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, integrating innovative educational technology and IT-enabled lessons to enhance student engagement. Develop and adapt curriculum materials that cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring accessibility for all students including those with special education needs. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective behavior management strategies, encouraging respectful interactions and collaborative learning among students. Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative assessments, standardized tests, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback to support growth. Collaborate with colleagues on instructional design, curriculum development, and school initiatives such as the AP (Advanced Placement) program or literacy education programs. Communicate proactively with parents regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and ways to support learning at home. Engage in ongoing professional development related to linguistics, journalism, research methods, and educational compliance to stay current with best practices in middle school teaching. Experience Prior classroom experience teaching middle school students, particularly in English Language Arts or social sciences. Demonstrated ability in curriculum development, lesson planning, instructional design, and implementing IT-integrated lessons. Strong understanding of the Chicago Manual of Style, AP style guidelines, proofreading techniques, and copy editing skills. Experience working with diverse student populations, including those requiring special education accommodations or behavioral management strategies. Proven success in mentoring students through standardized testing preparation or academic advising roles. Familiarity with educational technology tools such as learning management systems (LMS), library services integration, and digital literacy resources. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, administrators, parents, and external partners; ability to adapt teaching strategies based on varied learning styles.
