- High school diploma or GED required
- Possess at least 48 semester units of university coursework
- Have a passing score of 70% on the District academic proficiency test
- Must be currently enrolled college student with strong math and/or English background
- Excellent role models of motivated, organized, and successful college students who believe that the AVID students will succeed too
- Meet regularly to discuss student progress and to confer with teacher about future tutorial plans
- Ability to effectively communicate with students and school personnel
- Ability to perceive students' needs and develop positive relationships
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to think quickly and show patience
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday during school hours
